please help hotmail users...

i went on today and got the message, "your inbox has changed" or something like that. so i'm like yeah, okay. i pressed okay and it took me to the inbox. now when i click a message to view it, it won't take me there like before, just remains in the main message list.

what's going on?

Try to find the classic view link. Probably your interface changed to the modern one which is not accessible.

grrrrr. i can't find it

I don't seam to find it either any more. In the what's new it says that now they only have one interface which is a combination of the two.
I personally gave up hotmail long time ago and i use gmail and any email which is send to hotmail is just been forwarded to google.
I find the standart html view of gmail very accessible and i hope they keep it that way because it works really well.

hmm, I should switch over to gmail, as I am having that same problem...

Hotmail changed it's Layout and Appearance so quite a bit of the things are not as accessible as they were. They are working on it but nothing has come up yet.

outlook express.

Post 12 by battle star queen (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 23-Nov-2008 20:15:45

I've tried outlook express with hotmail but i got some message saying hotmail wasn't supported. What are the server names for ingoing and outgouing mail for hotmail?

Post 13 by The Great Rabbit (Queen of random) on Monday, 24-Nov-2008 6:01:44

pretty sure you can't use hotmail with outlook express anymore. the weird thing is i use hotmail and i haven't had any of these problems. i mean i got the same message that the interface had changed, but everything's still the same on mine. go figure. lol

I use hotmail with outlook express with no problems.

My hotmail change also and I had to get mymom to teach me how to send an email. I could still red my email I was just having problems sending one

I've been having so many issues with hotmail. I have trouble accessing my contact list, sending email, and several other issues. I hate the new layout. I'd switch to G mail, but that stupid captcha is impossible to get around. The audio captcha is so screwed up, and you can hardly hear what it's saying. Thanks to hotmail's inaccessibility, the only email I have is that insecure sbc global account.
Screw hotmail!

Webvisum? Webvisum? Webvisum? Have any of you guys tried that little wonderful add on to firefox? That's one of its uses is to help you solve captchas.

Post 18 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 20-Jan-2009 16:17:48

Yes! Agreed with the above poster! Lol!
Ok, I dont like the new layout with hotmail, but I can suggest a couple of things! Ok, when you are going to find your messages, you'll need to remember your jaws shortcuts because it's impossible to find these things without them! X to get to checkbox, t for table, etc. Click on the message, then do a screen find for the word "from", and that's how you read. Have not sent with it yet so not sure about that one.
The second thing I can suggest is, switch to gmail! If you are not a firefox user, the thing I can suggest is click on the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page, and tell them your problem. Google customer service is very helpful, and helped me to activate an account for someone!
If you are a firefox user, and do not have webvisum, contact me or someone else who does, and get an invite.
Anyway, good luck and hit me up if you have any more questions!
Ashley

Yeah, agree, webvisum is awesome! Don't know what I'd do without it as far as signing up for stuffgoes.
I can use Hotmail without any problems, however, the interface is a bit wierd, but, it's useable. I don't use that acount for much, but I do still check mail with it, and it's also my MSN/Windows Live Messenger acount.
And, to the poster about the insecure AT&T/SBC account, why not create a second one or change the password or use another provider like Fast Mail, which has no CAPTCHA? Just my two cents worth.
HTH,
